The 2026 American Climbing Journal
The 2026 ACJ covers groundbreaking rock climbs in the arenas of traditional climbing, sport climbing, bouldering, and big-wall free climbing, with hundreds of inspiring photographs. The feature stories in this year’s 224-page edition describe feats ranging from the world’s first proposed 5.15a traditional climb, to El Cap free routes, to the explosion in bouldering standards, to the first 5.15d in America. Dozens of other reports document cutting-edge climbs and first ascents in the U.S. and across the globe.
Limited Edition Hardcover
This year’s special hardcover edition celebrates the singular career of the world’s best rock climber—the Czech Adam Ondra, the only person to have flashed 5.15a, V15, and E11, as well as to have climbed a 5.14d big wall and redpointed 5.15d. Each copy is hand-signed by Ondra, and no more than 150 copies of this hardcover collector’s edition will be sold. All proceeds from the sale of this edition directly support the ACJ’s reporting and editing.
